When you get Martin to weynon prioy, you can get both Juaffre and Martin to follow you. DO NOT GET THEM TO CLOUD RULER TEMPLE!
If you are doing both the Mages and Fighters guild you can get maglir and Erthor to follow you. DO NOT FINISH THE GUILD CONTRACT/RECOMMENDATION
The best part of this is you get a mini army of people that cannot die. This is also good in case if you are in a quest like "The collector" instead of you and Maric you have Jauffre, Martin, Maglir and Erthor to follow along with you for any quest or if you want to destroy every oblivion gate(which is highly recommended).
Now your chances of survival have increased by at least 60% or higher!
