The help room random box has flashing question marks.
Right when they are darkest you will get either the browning or ray gun.
When they are brightest you will get either flamethrower or magnum.
You have to time it perfectly because if you're a millisecond off it will mess up.
I recommend you practice in solo, although this works for Live and split as well.
