EA Ships Over 12 Million Copies of Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 SoldierElectronic Arts have now shipped over 12 million copies of Battlefield 3. These numbers were confirmed by EA CFO Eric Brown, who was speaking at the Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco.

With 10 million copies of the game being shipped in its first week, this means another two million copies were “only” effectively shipped during the month of November. Never fear though, Battlefield 3 will definitely see renewed interest later on in December when the Back to Karkand DLC is released. We understand that Playstation 3 owners will get access to the new content on 7 December, while Xbox 360 and PC owners will need to wait until 14 December. The one weeks’ worth of early access is apparently in order to compensate PS3 owners for not receiving free copies of Battlefield 1943 with their purchase of Battlefield 3.
