cheat:	When using the DMR in battle, and you only have limited ammo, the best way to save it is to only use 5 shots to kill the person. It takes 4 shots anywhere to the body to completely disable their shields. So use 4 shots to deplete their shields, then shoot them in the head once. You save ammo, and get a headshot award, everyones happy (except for the guy you shot)! [more cheats for Halo: Reach here]
