Skyrim Patch 1.3 Finally Released for Consoles (sort of)

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim LogoOur recent post concerning the release of patch 1.3 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the PC only has generated a fair amount of debate, mostly regarding the fact that while the PC version of the game received its patch fairly promptly, owners of the game on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 were forced to wait due to each console’s respective certification process. The timing of the 1.3 update is particularly important because it fixes a lot of the problems that Bethesda introduced with their 1.2 patch of Skyrim, and this has only served to add to gamers’ frustrations with the matter.

Well, there is some good news today with the announcement that the 1.3 update is now available over Xbox Live (see the announcement tweet above). North American PS3 owners, specifically, will have to wait a little longer though with the update below revealing that while patch 1.3 is going out over the Playstation Network in Europe, it’s not yet out elsewhere.

Please let us know in the comments section below how you feel Bethesda has handled the situation and whether patch 1.3 is making Skyrim playable for you once again. The repasted patch notes are below.

  • General stability improvements
  • Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
  • Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
  • Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
  • Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
  • Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
  • Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate

I am glad it is FINALLY OUT … but… why the long ass wait? they could have done it ALMOST the same time as the pc… i have an xbox but, it is just WRONG that PS3 useres (in america) have to wait god knows how long, for there saves lag to be fixed.

As far as i am aware my magic resistence is fixed… no dragons flying backwards and no lag… but i have yet to wait and see what bethesda broke in the process
