Save your game and talk to Kellin Can the Fateweaver.
He will have as one option to play a game of dice. Make sure you have 1224 gold in your inventory.
Play a game of high roll. If you win, play again, if not, load the game and try again.
Keep going saving and loading until you have whatever sum you want.
