Cheat:
First, you get a block of the ore you want to dupe.

Next, you take a pick of the material you want to dupe and have it in your second hot bar slot.

Then clear the first slot so there is nothing but the block in it.

Now place the block and mine it, but when the block breaks go to your first hot bar slot and place the block just as it arrives in your first hot bar slot.
