The Xbox 360 has been the best-selling console for a 14 months straight and shows no signs of losing that position. The NPD numbers for February have just been released and Microsoft’s flagship console sold a total of 426,000 units during the month. This was enough to get a 42% share of current-generation console sales and is the 12th month running that the Xbox 360 has held over 40% of the monthly current-gen console market.
All this bought in quite a bit of cash for Microsoft too, with the total retail spend on all things Xbox 360 related (being hardware, software and accessories) reaching $383 million. Again, this was the highest figure for any console in the United States.
Finally, to top it all off, Xbox 360 held five of the top ten US console game titles during the month of Feb. These were Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, UFC Undisputed, NBA 2K12 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
