Microsoft appear to be pulling ahead of Sony in the race to sell the most consoles on Black Friday. If you check out Amazon’s “Best Sellers in Video Games” list you’ll see the Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect sitting in top spot at number one. That package has been available for $199 and with a price like that was sure to be popular. In second place though there is currently another Microsoft product – the Kinect hardware with Kinect Adventures and a couple of other games. Nintendo Wii’s Just Dance 3 game is in third spot and not until fourth place do you see a Sony product – their Black Friday 2011 Bundle which consists of a 160GB PS3 along with copies of LittleBigPlanet 2 Special Edition and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. At only $199 this also represents great value.
The win will be a significant coup for the team at Microsoft (if indeed they have “won” based on Amazon’s list), and it is interesting to note that only hours ago other news outlets were reporting that the PS3 bundle was sitting at number two with the Xbox 360 bundle in at number three. I’m not sure if the numbers will change again over the coming 24 hours, but it will be interesting to watch. In addition, I am sure each of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will come out with their own figures in coming days too.
