Epic Games Buys People Can Fly, Three Developers Leave

Bulletstorm developer, People Can Fly, was just purchased by Epic Games officially. The studio worked in tandem with Epic prior to the purchase on the foul-mouthed skillshot FPS before, however the studio was never actually owned outright by the Raleigh-based developer. That has since changed, but not at a cost. People Can Fly lost three developers in the process of moving to Epic, including creative director Adrian Chmielarz, Andrzej Poznanski and Michal Kosieradzki. Continue reading

Someone Might Have Sold this Xbox 720 Development Kit on eBay

Remember a few weeks ago when that DaE guy posted alleged photos of the Xbox 720 development kit, codenamed Durango, on the Internet? Well, it appears he has just sold that very same anonymous-looking black box for a whopping sum of $21,000. Whether or not the dev kit is even real is something that has yet to be determined, but it certainly seems as if DaE has access to something that Microsoft might not want people to know about or have. Although legal action has yet to be taken, it only seems logical that Microsoft, who typically offers these development kits as a loan service for developers, will be quite irritated that someone managed to score a great deal of cash on something that is rightfully Redmond’s property.

Need for Speed Most Wanted Gets a Multiplayer Teaser

The reboot of the Need for Speed franchise’s Most Wanted iteration has been gaining a lot of attention lately, probably because it shares the exact same name as the game it is updating, which is a bit strange. However, with Burnout veterans, Criterion at the helm this time around, it appears that we may actually have a much more intense and crash-heavy Need for Speed title on our hands. Hot Pursuit was an excellent addition to the Need for Speed franchise, and it appears that the update of Most Wanted is going to follow in the footsteps of that particular game’s blueprint based on this brief multiplayer teaser.
