Mass Effect: Leviathan DLC Gets a Release Date


 

In case you just can’t get enough of Mass Effect 3 and are looking for just about any way to change the ending, the upcoming Leviathan DLC might just be the cure to what ails you. Featuring a powerful being that is supposedly strong enough to take on a Reaper, the Leviathan expansion will feature new planets and characters, and have Commander Shepard chasing after the Leviathan’s decidedly large footprint throughout the bulk of the experience. Track Zombie-Killing Stats with Resident Evil.net and Resident Evil 6


 

Not one to be left out of the crowd, Capcom recently announced at Gamescom 2012 that it will be releasing an in-depth stat-tracking website, dubbed Resident Evil.net, for the upcoming Resident Evil 6. The website, which will reportedly be a free service for all, allows players to track their stats in-game and compete with their friends for high scores across all of Resident Evil 6′s game modes. The service¬†will also be tied in with Twitter and presumably other social networks, and will alert you if your buddies have bested one of your high scores. The service also displays additional statistics, including playtime, weapon stats, and more. In addition, exclusive Resident Evil.net unlockables will be rewarded for completing various challenges within the services framework, allowing for even more reason to be a part of the online service. Capcom Announces Fresh IP, “Remember Me” at Gamescom 2012


 

It’s not every day that a new IP hits the scene, and with Capcom’s first ever Gamescom showing, they’ve brought just that to show off to fans of futuristic sci-fi action. The game, titled Remember Me, looks to be an interesting mix of the Deus Ex aesthetic and a futuristic Bayonetta, which, as you can imagine, is pretty sweet looking. With a protagonist that resembles a slightly bustier Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark Zero, this new adventure title from Dontnod looks set to be killer. Battlefield 3 Premium Edition to Release September 11th


Have you failed to jump on the Battlefield 3 bandwagon yet? Holding out for that “Game of the Year” edition that always seems to come out months down the line after a successful game launch? Well, your dreams have finally been realized, as EA and DICE have just officially announced the upcoming Battlefield 3 Premium Edition. The Premium Edition of the the popular first-person shooter comes with the Premium subscription of the game that launched earlier this year, granting players access to every expansion pack, upcoming or old, and a number of additional bonuses. The game, which will be releasing this September 11th, will retail for $70, and will save new purchasers of the game about $40 if they had bought the standard edition of Battlefield 3 and subscribed to Battlefield 3 Premium.

Dead Space 3 Release Date Revealed in New Gamescom Trailer


Visceral Games and EA finally unveiled the release date for the hotly-anticipated Dead Space 3 today at Gamescom 2012. Accompanying the date was a fresh demo shown at EA’s presentation showcase, and the action-packed gameplay from Dead Space 2 looks to be making a return in the sequel. While we don’t know just how much horror will be present in Dead Space 3, action fans will certainly have something to write home about after seeing this recent gameplay footage. Challenge the World in this Need for Speed Most Wanted Multiplayer Trailer


The Criterion reboot of the popular racing title, Need for Speed Most Wanted finally got its official multiplayer trailer after being teased a week ago.¬†The action racing game from the developers of Burnout looks to be an open world experience with some interesting challenges and side missions to enjoy with friends online in what appears to be a semi-persistent online world, similar to Burnout Paradise. Details are still somewhat shrouded in mystery, but given the developer’s track record (ha!) you can probably expect a ton of twisted steel and high-octane races on the streets of Fairhaven. EA Shows Off FIFA 13′s Match Day Feature at Gamescom 2012


FIFA 13 is going to sell boatloads of units, no matter what features it has, but that doesn’t mean EA Sports isn’t aiming to raise the bar for soccer games once more. Building on the success of FIFA 12, FIFA 13 aims to deliver a title that is more in tune with the real happenings in the soccer world, all while keeping the content of the game fresh and as real-time as possible. Similar to the way that 2K’s NBA 2K12 followed the real world of basketball, players will be able to play matches in FIFA 13 that are happening in real life. It doesn’t end there, however.

Be Master and Commander in this Assassin’s Creed 3 Trailer


While most typical assassin-y work is performed on good ol’ fashioned land, sometimes, you just gotta take it to the sea. In this Gamescom 2012 trailer from Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed 3 takes protagonist Connor and puts him in the shoes of a naval commander in the Revolutionary War. Although you probably won’t be doing much sneaking while shooting cannonballs at other ships amidst the raging tides of the ocean, the naval warfare of Assassin’s Creed 3 looks to be quite developed and just as engaging and immersive as the rest of the triple-A experience. Become the Hunter in Crysis 3′s Hunter Multiplayer Mode


It’s not often that an established shooter franchise tries to interweave an asymmetrical multiplayer mode into the framework of its other offerings, but it appears that Crytek is trying something new and refreshing with its recently announced Hunter multiplayer mode. Rather than pit two factions against one another in a balanced and fair firefight, Hunter aims to introduce a high-tech game of cat and mouse into the fray. In Hunter, two nanosuit-powered Hunters aim to prevent 14 CELL operatives from reaching an extraction point in what is sure to be the most unique gametype since Splinter Cell’s Mercs vs. Spies game mode.
