The NPD results for November 2011 are in and somewhat unsurprisingly, the Xbox 360 has come out on top. The NPD report notes that the “gap between 360 sales and sales of the next best selling platform was the largest we’ve seen since December 2008 when the Nintendo DS was the top selling system.” In addition, Aaron Greenberg, Chief of Staff for Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft (try saying that quickly) has tweeted that a massive 1.7 million Xbox 360′s were sold during November, which equates to Microsoft gaining 49% market share and delivering 23% year on year growth for the month. With a 49% market share, Greenburg also notes that Xbox 360 sold nearly double the amount of consoles of all its rivals.
