Some of you may have noticed that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was removed from the Xbox Live Store last week. You also might have heard rumors of an impending re-release, and seen a list of San Andreas achievements.

The rumors are true! San Andreas, which was previously available on Xbox Live as an Xbox Original, was pulled in preparation of the new Games on Demand release, which will support achievements, run with a 720p resolution, and have better draw distance.

Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the game’s original release, and Rockstar celebrated by releasing this new version for the Xbox 360. You can find it now on Xbox Live.

If you already own the Xbox Originals download, you can still play that version, but you won’t be able to transfer your save files if you upgrade to the new one. And the best of course is that all the same GTA: San Andreas cheats for the Xbox 360 version, that you must know by heart now, will work!

Will you be re-visiting San Andreas this week?
