The Criterion reboot of the popular racing title, Need for Speed Most Wanted finally got its official multiplayer trailer after being teased a week ago. The action racing game from the developers of Burnout looks to be an open world experience with some interesting challenges and side missions to enjoy with friends online in what appears to be a semi-persistent online world, similar to Burnout Paradise. Details are still somewhat shrouded in mystery, but given the developer’s track record (ha!) you can probably expect a ton of twisted steel and high-octane races on the streets of Fairhaven. Have a look at the Gamescom multiplayer trailer after the jump.
The Burnout games have never utilized licensed cars in the past, so to see top brands such as Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, and others in a Criterion game is actually quite nice. Customization specifics are still being kept under wraps, but the Most Wanted series is particularly known for its detailed under-the-hood tuning and personalization to make you stand out from the crowd. If you’ve been craving for a virtual joyride in some of the world’s most beautiful and high-powered cars without all the frivolous details of realistic sim racers, Need for Speed Most Wanted might just scratch that itch and then some. Criterion and EA’s Need for Speed Most Wanted will hit retail on November 2, 2012 in Europe and October 30, 2012 in North America.
