Activision don’t want to be seen as sitting on their laurels and basking in the retail success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Instead, just a day after the release of MW3, the company’s CEO Bobby Kotick has confirmed that a new Call of Duty title is already in the works for 2012.
As we focus on 2012, we have a strong product pipeline which features a minimum of two highly-anticipated new titles from Blizzard Entertainment, including Diablo III, and a new Call of Duty game from Activision Publishing.
Sledgehammer Games took care of development duties for Modern Warfare 3 and it looks like Treyarch will return for next year’s title. With such a short period of time between releases, you certainly can’t say that Activision aren’t making the most of the Call of Duty franchise’s popularity!
