Activision have just announced that they are developing 007 Legends to celebrate James Bond’s 50th birthday (on our screens). 007 Legends will be based on, and tie in together, six classic James Bond movies, including this year’s 007 movie – Skyfall. Unfortunately, the identity of the five remaining Bond movies involved is not yet known.
The game will feature fan favorites such as Mi6 Ops Missions and for the first time, we will get to play as either friend or foe. 4 player split screen multiplayer (my personal favorite from Goldeneye on the N64) as well as online multiplayer modes are included.
Executive VP of publishing at Activision, David Oxford, has this to say:
To honor 50 years of the world’s top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet. Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game.
007 Legends is currently scheduled for a Fall release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
