Get someone who will co-operate with you in a multiplayer game. Then drop what you want to make a copy of.
Exit the game without saving and leave your friend to take the item.
Then re-enter the game and you'll still have a copy of the weapon, and then your friend can give you the other one!
This can be done as many times as you want. Enjoy!
